Treemap & Sunburst Documentation

Plugio Treemap helps you visualize complex Jira issue hierarchies using powerful space-filling charts. Identify bottlenecks and distribution patterns at a glance.

Getting Started

Add the gadget to your Jira Dashboard in 4 steps:

  1. 1 On your Jira Dashboard, click Add Gadget.
  2. 2 Find "Treemap - Sunburst - Pie Chart" and click Add.
  3. 3 Click Configure on the gadget to open the editor.
  4. 4 Select your JQL query, choose drill-down fields, and pick a color mode.

Visualization Types

Choose the best way to represent your data hierarchy:

1. Treemap Chart

Perfect for space-efficient visualization of large datasets. Each rectangle's area represents the volume of issues, while colors can represent a second metric like "Story Points" or "Priority".

2. Sunburst Chart

Ideal for showing multi-level relationships. The concentric rings show the hierarchy from the center (root) outwards. Interactive segments allow you to zoom into specific categories.

3. Drill-Down Pie

A familiar interface enhanced with hiyerarchical support. Click on any slice to see its sub-components, with live total counts displayed in the center.

Data & Colors

Connect your data using any JQL query or saved filter. You can then refine the visual representation:

Categorical Colors

Each group receives a unique color from your selected palette. Great for quickly distinguishing between Projects or Statuses.

Heatmap Mode

Colors are calculated based on a numeric intensity. For example, highlight areas with high "Time Spent" or "High Priority" counts using a color gradient.

Drill-Down Depth

Support for unlimited levels of hierarchy. Define your drill-down path in the editor (e.g., Project > Issue Type > Assignee) and explore the data interactively on your dashboard.

The breadcrumb navigation at the top of the chart shows your current path and the total issue count at each level.
